Sky at Night
This month’s Sky at Night, as those of you who have seen it might have noticed, was a little different than normal in that we essentially had three seperate topics (on the extended, BBC4, version). I would be very interest to receive ANY feedback – positive or negative, in the comments or via email – about any of the three items.
I’ll try and remember to ask this again once the program goes up on the web…

I thought this was one of the most relevant (to us amateurs) episode I’ve ever seen.
The Autumn Sky segment was relevant because it’s exactly what us amateurs are also looking at at the moment – more detail than just the absolute basics would have been good though, although I appreciate the time constraints you’re under. Ever seen Will Tirions monthly sky guide? Well, your prog goes out once a month and I reckon that a monthly review of constellations and objects favourably placed would be a good idea.
The star party segment was good for the same reason – highly relevant. I liked the exploration of the different types of telecope (relevant – nearly all amateurs have one) personally, I’d like to see more detail again, a piece on the pro’s and con’s of different telescope designs would go down a treat. Also some theoretical stuff , like how to calculate magnifications and fields of view etc would be good. Don’t be afraid of blinding us with science, most astronomers are at least reasonably intelligent (ish?)
(nice web site BTW)

Jon.
