Not by anyone with their grasp of maths, I think:

A national newspaper survey in 1998 suggested 33% of men and 24% of women thought aliens had already visited the earth.
…unless they’re claiming that 33% of men and 52% of women are in on the conspiracy and thus had no comment to make.

Your 1998 figures suggest women are at least 9 % saner (or more scientific) than men. Big surprise? Not really!!!
