Galaxyzoo
The AAS group liveblog over at Astronomy Cast has done a fantastic job of providing all the news from the conference. Phil Plait caught up with me earlier and asked me about the Galaxy Zoo cosmology results we announced today; you can see the result below. I think we should have found more light, and I shouldn’t have worn this shirt…

Fancy calling our lovely Zooites “screwed up”! I am sure we will merely laugh and carry on clicking.

Well dodgy shirt…..but good to hear you talk about what we have been doing and the
fact that we seem to perceive patterns in different ways. I hadn’t thought enough
about how the design of the Analysis page might effect any bias.

Great to put a face to the name:)
I am completely unsurprised by the fact that there is a (small) human bias, there always is in experiments, and the psychology of this whole operation has fascinated me from the outset.
On the other hand if the universe had a bias or ‘handedness’ why should that be a surprise - lots of natural phenomena do ???
Galaxyzoo is tremendous but should carry an ‘addiction’ warning:)
