Over the last year or so, the denziens of the Galaxy Zoo forum have been getting together to talk astronomy over a beer or two. This seems like a splendid idea, so if you’re free on Sunday 23rd November and in – or can get to – central London, then please join me and the indomitable Pamela Gay, host of the wildly successful Astronomy Cast.
We’ll be in Mabel’s Tavern in Bloomsbury, not a million miles from my old stomping ground of UCL between 2 and 5pm.

It would have been good to meet you, Maile – I enjoy your comments on this blog, and would certainly have lobbied you to join the Galaxy Zoo Forum (if you’re not already there under a different name). Bumped into Chris in a Maidenhead pub last night and said hello. (very pleasant he was too ;o).None of my pals knew him though, so showed them who he is on Google, leading me here..! Great to see that you guys have the opportunity to get together like this, and only wish I’d travelled down from Scotland a little earlier to pop along. I seem to be the only person in my social network that is interested in astronomy and takes part in the Galaxy Zoo project, so its great to find this type of online community/blog that I can contribute to!
